If FEAR were a map, would it be a compass or a roadblock, a “FEAR-block?”

I operate on the assumption that fear is energy, just as love is energy. I also believe that this energy can serve as a positive direction, or a paralyzing inhibitor. One application is constructive, the other destructive.

Fear as a compass…things that really can harm us, the oncoming bus intersecting with our walk across the street. But we have adapted ways to neutralize this threat, and we lose no sleep over the possibility.

Fear as a roadblock, or as I christen it, a “FEAR-block.” Well, this is the destructive energy that need not occur. Consider the acronym,
F.E.A.R., “False Events Appearing Real.” Many of us allow these false events, beliefs, perceptions, thoughts to control our actions and emotions. This puts an unnecessary strain on our health & happiness. Worrying about what MIGHT happen is a form of fear that is statistically unfounded.

There will be more to deal with fear in posts to come.

About orangeacorn

We are, I believe, and everything is, in perpetual unfolding/enfolding/evolving. By surface appearances, we're in turmoil and fearfullness, but in fact our existence is on the edge of a new way, beyond the US versus THEM we have grown with. I encourage you to join me over coffee or tea in face-to-face encounters. I call this exercise, "CAFFEINE COMMUNION: Encounters with Paradigm Pioneers." I'm a Columbus, Ohio husband, father and citizen. I practice string band sounds from the ridges of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, the vortex of the ancient drone.
